JCA Structure

The structure of JCA has been developed to ensure that the community can be assured that their contributions are being used as wisely and responsibly as possible to the maximum benefit of the community.

The JCA Board of Governors consists of:

Trustee Governors - the presidents of all of the 18 constituent organisations,
Non Trustee Governors - an equal number of lay leaders of communal standing and philanthropy,
Life Governors - Senior lay leaders who continue to offer their counsel.

JCA Board of Governors' Committees include:

Appeal Executive - management of the JCA fundraising campaign. Members are leaders in communal philanthropy and fundraising. The Appeal Executive operates through a broadly based Appeal Board which comprises leaders of the various divisional committees, key coordinators of various aspects of the campaign and representatives of major member organisations.

Allocations Committee - three independent and highly respected leaders, with backgrounds in financial management, business, law and communal affairs. This committee undertakes a complex review process based on the financial and operational management of the organisations, leading to the annual allocation recommendations for final approval by the Board of Governors.

Building and Capital Committee - determines which of the 18 member organisations will be granted the annual communally endorsed building appeal.

Jewish Communal Planning Unit - deals with the complex planning and inter-organisational issues and assists member organisations to work together to provide for communal needs.
